Sokoine University of Agriculture Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research (for two terms i.e., 2017-2020 & 2020-2023) (https://www.dprtc.sua.ac.tz/about-us/welcome-message) Responsibilities:

·       Promoting and coordination of university-wide research activities

·       Coordinating graduate studies

·       Devising policies, regulations and guidelines to support graduate training, research, technology transfer and consultancy activities

·       Promoting collaboration and linkages with public and private institutions within and outside Tanzania

Tanzania Veterinary Association Chairman (2019 to date)

Responsibilities:

·       Promoting professional conduct of veterinarians in the country

·       Engagement of private sector and the Government on matters related to promoting animal health and animal welfare in Tanzania

·       Organization of Annual Scientific conferences and exhibitions

·       Enhancing regional and global networking with other professional bodies and also in international events e.g., celebrations of the World Veterinary Day

SACIDS Foundation for One Health Leader, Digital and Data Sciences Programme (2013 to date) (http://web.sacids.org/ova_dep/digital-and-data-sciences-2/) Responsibilities:

·       Leading the Digital and Data Sciences programme

·       Mobilization of research grants and other resources

·       Supporting Governments in the East and Southern African countries to manage health risks in human and animal populations

·       Supporting training of critical mass of graduate students in One Health related disciplines

·       Organizing events relevant to the institute (e.g., One Health Conference in Africa, EpiHack convenings, etc.)

Sokoine University of Agriculture Head, Department of Medical Sciences (2016-2017) Responsibilities:

·       Day to day management of the departmental duties

·       Developing new curricula relevant to SUA mission and vision

SACIDS at SUA Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2009-2011) Responsibilities:

·       Conducting research on resource mapping, emergency preparedness analysis and application of mobile technologies to support infectious disease surveillance

·       Writing research grants
