Nonga<\/strong> graduated his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sua.ac.tz\/programme\/bachelor-veterinary-medicine\">Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sua.ac.tz\/programme\/master-veterinary-medicine-mvm\">Master Veterinary Medicine<\/a> at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sua.ac.tz\/\">Sokoine University of Agriculture<\/a> in\u00a01999 and 2005 respectively. He was awarded a PhD in Environmental Toxicology (Ecotoxicology\u00a0and his\u00a0doctoral thesis is titled \u201cImpact of human activities in selected lake ecosystems in Tanzania and occurrence of microcystins and potential microcystin-producing cyanobacteria\u201d\u00a0undertaken from\u00a0the Norwegian (2008-2011).\u00a0Prof. Nonga was employed as a Resident Veterinary Clinician at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvmbs.sua.ac.tz\/animalhospital\/\">Sokoine University Animal Hospital<\/a> since 1999 to 2003. Later in 2003, he was categorized to a Tutorial Assistant position, later promoted to positions of Assistant Lecturer in 2005, Lecturer in 2008, Senior Lecturer in 2012 and Associate Professor in 2019. Professor Nonga worked as a visiting Professor at <a href=\"https:\/\/kcmuco.ac.tz\/\">Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMU College)<\/a> since 2014 to 2019. Thereafter, he was appointed as a Director of Veterinary Services (DVS) and Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mifugouvuvi.go.tz\/\">Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries<\/a>. Since 2024\u00a0he is working\u00a0at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) as Associate Professor (Veterinary Public Health), Department of Veterinary medicine and Public Health, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Prof. Nonga participates in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, research, extension and consultancy. He\u00a0has been a Principal Investigator (PI) in 2\u00a0research projects; Co PI 2\u00a0and collaborated in more than 10 research projects. He\u00a0has published 88\u00a0journal papers\u00a0and\u00a0more than 40 conference proceedings and has co-authored one book and one book chapter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. H.
