Ngowi<\/strong>\u00a0is an Associate Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sua.ac.tz\/\">Sokoine University of Agriculture<\/a>, Tanzania. She specialises in veterinary-public health, majoring in health promotion. H Ngowi has worked extensively in health promotion approaches to the control of parasitic zoonoses, with particular focus on taeniasis and cysticercosis caused by the pork tapeworm, <em>Taenia solium<\/em>. She has also trained in qualitative research and has developed different health educational materials and tools. H Ngowi has participated in developing various international guidelines for disease control, including the (1) WHO Technical Report Series number 971 (<a href=\"https:\/\/iris.who.int\/bitstream\/handle\/10665\/75350\/WHO_TRS_971_eng.pdf?sequence=1\"><u>WHO_TRS_971_eng.pdf<\/u><\/a>) and (2) OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code for \u201cInfection with <em>Taenia solium<\/em>\u00a0(Porcine Cysticercosis)\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.woah.org\/fileadmin\/Home\/eng\/Health_standards\/tahc\/2016\/en_chapitre_taenia_solium.htm\"><u>Chapter 15.3. (woah.org)<\/u><\/a>). To date, Prof H. Ngowi has published 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications, led six international grants, and coordinated two international networks. She has reviewed quite a number of scientific publications and international research grant applications. H. Ngowi welcomes collaborations in the areas of neglected tropical diseases, health promotion, and qualitative research.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. H.
