SUSTAINABLE USE OF LABORATORY FACILITIES IS A KEY FACTOR FOR SUCCESSFUL PRACTICAL TRAINING: VICE CHANCELLOR

The SUA Vice Chancellor, Prof Raphael Chibunda visited the recently renovated Microbiology/Parasitology laboratory and insisted on sustainable use of the facility and other laboratory facilities at the college

The Vice Chancellor made the visit to appreciate the updates on the renovation of the laboratory and installation of new equipment, as part of the ongoing project; “Improving the quality of youth education in veterinary sciences in Tanzania through improvement of teaching conditions at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences”. The project is funded by the Polish-Aid programme 2019, co-financed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Poland.

Professor Chibunda urged the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to build the culture of undertaking regular maintenance of laboratory facilities. He added that one of the best ways of cherishing the donations from college partners is to use internal resources to maintain them and ensure they are sustainably used.

Through the project, the College expects to receive more important laboratory equipment including 24 modern digital microscopes and accompanied teaching facilities.
