Launching of the major laboratories mainly used for student practical teaching was conducted at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) on 26th November, 2020. The two laboratories, as well as the Teaching Hospital diagnostic laboratory were renovated by the previously reported “Improvement of the quality of youth education in veterinary sciences in Tanzania through improvement of teaching conditions” project by the Foundation of Science for Development and supported by the Polish Aid.

Speaking during the event, The Principal of the CVMBS, Prof Elliot Phiri, on behalf of the SUA Vice Chancelor thanked the Polish Aid for taking the initiative to facilitate financially the renovation. Prof Phiri said the renovation, which went with installation of morden teaching and diagnostic equipment will greatly help the College in providing good education to undergraduate as well as postgraduate students

The President of the Foundation of Science for Development, Dr Wieslaw Ptach, on his side, thanked the CVMBS and SUA at large for showing maximum collaboration and trust during the implementation of the project. Dr Ptach indicated that among the objectives of the project was to improve learning environments in selected developing countries and they are ready to give a help whenever the need raise within their capacity.
