In October 2018, Kifaro enrolled in a Ph.D programme in the Department of Microbiology, Parasitology, and Biotechnology (DMPB) within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). He is an employee of Sokoine University of Agriculture, as an Assistant Lecturer (Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) in the same department.
